Your True and Full Self - Guided Meditation, Short Version

Notice body sensations

Allow both comfort and discomfort

Allowing is a doorway to Nirvana and your True Self.

Notice thoughts and images created by mind

Don’t mind the mind, simply observe thoughts and images as they come and go, arise and dissolve.

Notice that there is an instance which is aware of the activity of mind.

Welcome all the feelings in the mind-body field

Feel them fully, don’t repress them

Notice that there is a part of you that is aware of feelings and free from them.

Notice the world around you

Notice sounds and sights

Don’t try to change or control anything, allow the world to be.

Notice various energies, images and sounds in the subtle worldspace.

Notice the longing of the Soul to be one with the Divine

If subtle deities offer their help in this realm – accept it

You can trust them; they will guide you to your True Nature with their Wisdom and Love.

As you read these words allow them to dissolve into the Source, into pure Awareness.

In the same fashion, allow your body-mind-soul to dissolve and rest as Awareness.

Now, notice the Noticer – this is the most important turn you can make for lifetimes.

Explore the Noticer by being Noticer.

How is it to be and live from this placeless place?

How is it to be beyond space and time, unborn, undying, infinite, and unchanging?

Allow the last boundary between inner and outer, subject and object, you and the world, Noticer and noticed to dissolve.

Simply Be.

Noticer and the noticed are not-two:

Awareness contemplating itself

Spirit experiencing itself

God being itself

You tasting yourself.

The Wisdom of Senses - Guided Meditation

The following guided meditation brings your full attention to your senses and enables you to rest - at least for an instant - as Presence, as your True Self.

We start with bringing our attention to the sense of smell.

What are you smelling right now?

Bring your full attention to smelling.

Be smelling, be pure smelling.

Don’t label or interpret anything, just smell.

Notice that as soon as we focus on our senses the mind quiets.

How is it to just smell without the activity of mind?

Is this the peace and freedom we are longing for for lifetimes?

Bring your attention to the sense of taste.

What is the taste in your mouth?

Again, don’t interpret or label anything, just taste.

When we quiet mind-body there is still tasting

But the question is: Who is tasting?

Who is the ultimate Experiencer?

Bring now your attention to the sense of touch.

Feel your body sitting on the chair, couch or on the floor.

You can touch your body or objects around you.

Try to feel non-egoically

For an instant don’t feel like a person

Let the deeper dimension of you feel

Let your ego be the polished window.

Who is aware of touching?

What is aware of touching?

Awareness is experiencing itself.

Be That just for an instant.

Now bring all of your attention to the sense of hearing

Notice all the sounds

Allow all the sounds to exist simultaneously

Be pure panoramic hearing.

When we are pure hearing the boundary between inner and outer dissolves

There is no “here” and “there”, a distinction introduced by dualistic mind

There are only sounds arising and dissolving in the Eternal Here.

All the sounds are just Awareness hearing itself

Pure and raw hearing.

Now we focus on the sense of sight

How is it to see not as a Person but as Awareness, as Spirit?

How is it to see with the eye of Spirit?

In Reality, the Seer, seeing and the seen are One

It is just Awareness seeing itself, experiencing itself, contemplating itself.

No mind, no time, no space

Just Eternal Now and Infinite Here.

Just Awareness smelling, tasting, touching, hearing and seeing itself

Awareness contemplating itself.

Welcome to your True Self.

Close - Guided Inquiry, Extended Version

The following guided inquiry helps you overcome distance and separation, brings an end to desire and suffering and enables you to realize your True Self, the real Home.

Bring your attention to an object far away from you

Notice a cloud, a star, a mountain peak, a car, a building far from you.

Notice the distance from the object and the separation from it.

Feel the distance and feel the separation

Feel it fully.

What is your relationship to the object?

Do you like it or dislike it? Do you want it? Do you feel aversion towards it? Are you indifferent?

Feel fully whatever you are feeling.

Feel distance, separation, liking, disliking, desire, aversion, indifference.

What we are experiencing right now is the core of the egoic sense of self, the core of the separate self.

Separate self is nothing but the resistance to what is via desiring, aversion, liking, disliking, keeping a distance, thinking about past and future, etc. And when we identify with this resistance we suffer.

Choose another object, this time closer to you and bring your full attention to it Focus on something in your yard, or close to your house; something in your room, a lamp, a painting, a pen.

How does this separation feel, how does this distance feel?

How do you feel “closer”?

Did the experience change due to the fact that the object is closer?

What is your relationship to it?

Desire? Aversion? Indifference?

Whenever there is distance and separation, there is liking or disliking, desire or aversion, pulling or pushing or just keeping a distance and separation.

What happens if there is no distance and separation?

How is it to live from this placeless place?

Now let’s focus on something closer and more intimate to you

Bring your attention to body sensations.

Allow both comfort and discomfort

Feel your body without the labels and interpretations of dualistic mind.

Is there a distance between you and your body sensations?

How far from you and how close to you are your body sensations?

Why do we feel more intimate with our bodies than with the world around us?

Where exactly is the boundary between you and the world?

And is your egoic separate self your Real True Self?

Now let’s bring our attention to something closer to you than your body sensations.

Bring your attention to your breath.

Notice breathing in and breathing out.

How far is your breath from you?

How close is your breath to you?

Who is aware of breathing?

Notice that there is something closer to you than your breath

It is so close to you that actually there is no distance and separation from you and That.

There is no separation between you and your Being, your True Self.

And there is no separation and difference between your True Self and the core of Reality.

You are Awareness/Reality which is aware of everything and in which everything arises and dissolves.

Breathing arises and dissolves in You as Awareness.

Body sensations arise and dissolve in You as Awareness.

Thoughts arise and dissolve in You as Awareness.

Various objects arise and dissolve in You as Awareness.

The world arises and dissolves in You as Awareness.

This is true Intimacy and true Love.

When we “identify” with our True Self there is no “here” and “there”, there is no distance, separation and suffering.

There is only our True Self in its infinite and eternal Display.

Welcome to your True Self.

Close - Inquiry, Short Version

What is closer to you than the world around you?

What is closer to you than your body?

What is closer to you that your thoughts?

What is closer to you than your breath?

Be That.

What is Overlooked - Poetic Inquiry

The following poetic inquiry brings your attention to the activity of overlooking and experientially reveals your True Self as That which is too often overlooked.

You go to bed in the evening

You dream for a while

You wake up in the morning.

What is overlooked?

Early morning, breakfast, coffee

A promise of a new day.

What is overlooked?

You are having a good day

You think: “Life is great.”

What is overlooked?

You are having a bad day

You think: “Life sucks.”

What is overlooked?

I like this or that

I don’t like this or that.

What is overlooked?

I want this or that

I don’t want this or that.

What is overlooked?

Excitement, depression, hopes, fears

Memories, joy, boredom, anxiety

What is overlooked?

You look in the mirror

And you think you are a person.

Who is overlooked?

At work you play this role

At home you play that role.

What is overlooked?

You look at the people around you

You think you see persons.

Who is overlooked?

You look at the world around you

You think you see objects and nature.

What is overlooked?

You think there is a boundary

between you and the world.

What is overlooked?

You go to bed

You wake up.

What is overlooked?

You wake up

You do this and that

You feel this and that

You think this and that.

What is overlooked?

You wake up and you do it

Again, again and again.

What is overlooked?

You are born

You live your life

You die.

What is overlooked?

You are born

You die

You are reborn.

What is overlooked?

Birth, death, rebirth

Does this process ever end?

What is overlooked?

Dear Friend,

Don’t waste your time

Don't waste minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, lifetimes.

Look at the overlooked.

Awaken to your True Self.

Be That.
